Volunteer Hours & Refund Process

Volunteers are what keep our fields maintained and our tournaments running smoothly and successfully. Each family is required to contribute at least 4 hours of volunteer time each season in order to have their $150 volunteer fee (paid upon registration) refunded. Volunteer hours are NOT prorated.

Here are a few important things to note:

  • While we encourage families to volunteer together as a learning opportunity, minors do NOT count toward your 4-hour requirement. The 4 hours should be accounted for by parents/guardians/adults.
  • All minors helping in concessions must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Anyone under the age of 14 helping in our concessions area should NOT handle any money!
  • If you sign up for a field maintenance slot (dragging/chalking) during our tournaments, there will not be training available for these tasks so PLEASE only sign up for those timeslots if you know how to do them.
  • When signing up for volunteer time slots – Please pay close attention to the day, time, and the actual field location assigned to each sign-up opportunity. There are signup slots for many fields around town during the tournaments, so it is important you are present where you are signed up for.
  • All refunds will be issued by August 15th.
  • Volunteer hour discrepancies must be presented to the LYB Board no later than September 1st.  LYB will not consider any discrepancies after September 1st.
  • Scorekeeping at league games does not count towards volunteer hours.
  • Your refund will be credited to the card used at registration time.  LYB is not responsible for cancelled credit cards.
